Rigi Bahnen
Weggis Vitznau Rigi Goldau
Since 1871 Europe's first ever mountain railway has brought visitors from Vitznau up to Mt. Rigi. Travel in comfort either in the cog train from Vitznau or Goldau, or by cable car from Weggis to Rigi Kaltbad.
Nostalgic Rides
The Rigi has the most extensive collection of nostalgic locomotives and rolling stock in the world. Many of the locomotives and coaches from the early years of the mountain railway have been painstakingly and professionally restored to their former splendour, and they now await their passengers. The nostalgic coaches can be efficiently and cost effectively connected to the scheduled electrified trains.
The Floating Restaurant
Every Saturday from July to September, 19.45 hrs. – 21.45 hrs. Dinner between “heaven and earth”. On summer nights, the panoramic aerial cable car is transformed into a romantic floating restaurant. Enjoy an unforgettable adventure high in the skies, surrounded by breathtaking panoramic views.
Sunrise Rides
Every Sunday in summer with scrumptious buffet breakfast. More than a century ago travellers and romanticists - Mark Twain amongst them– climbed up Mt. Rigi to see the legendary sunrise from the top of the mountain. This amazing natural spectacle can now be experienced with ease and in comfort thanks to the early morning sunrise train from Goldau. The overwhelming panoramic view and the touching sound of the Alphorn provides a great setting for the majestic sunrise. After the sunrise, a delicious breakfast will be served – the perfect start to the day.
Nostalgic Fondue Rides
Every Friday from December to March: Goldau – Rigi Kulm Enjoy a genuine Swiss Fondue in the world's oldest cogwheel-train (built in 1911). A truly authentic Swiss experience!
