Lakeside pavilion
Weggis
In keeping with tradition a new pavilion has been erected in Weggis. It can be compared with similar buildings from bygone years: this spot was and still is a meeting place for locals and guests alike.
The traditional Weggis Oberquai has always been a focal point in Weggis. This area was reclaimed from the lake over 99 years ago thus providing a public area where guests and locals could relax on the lakeside and enjoy the panoramic scenery.
This is still the case today. On the 4th, 5th and 6th of May 2007 the new pavilion was officially opened. It takes the place of the old, smaller building that was built in 1909. The new pavilion is multifunctional: the orchestra still plays on a regular basis, the locals still produce a variety of concerts, folklore evenings and shows. It is also well equipped for larger events such as the Rose festival, the Riviera Latina Festival and the Heirassa Festival.
