Vo Lozärn gäge Wäggis zue
Weggis
The "Rigilied", better known under the name "Vo Lozärn gäge Wäggis zue!", is one of the most famous folk songs in Switzerland.
This Swiss folk song was written in 1832 by the musician Johann Lüthi after experiencing a wonderful boat trip from Lucerne to Weggis.
Johann Lüthi was born on the 6th of December in 1800 near Solothurn. For many decades he performed with his band throughout the country. That is how the "Rigilied" became popular.
